Open to Reveal triggers when the phone goes from closed to open while a card is still covered. If the card was already revealed, opening keeps it revealed. Check that the setting is on under You, Study. If the phone was opened very slowly, tap the card or Show answer; the fold is an enhancement, never the only way.

No. Closing never rates anything. An unrated, revealed card stays revealed on the outer display with the rating buttons.

Yes. Every feature works on a single-screen iPhone running iOS 17 or later. The Duo adds the fold; it does not gate anything.

Under You, Study, turn on the left-hand mirror. The rating buttons swap so Got it is under your left thumb.

In Anki, export a deck or your collection as .apkg or .colpkg, with scheduling information and media included. Open the file on your iPhone (AirDrop, Files, or Mail) and choose Bifold, or use Import under You. Review history, media and sub-decks come along. More about switching from Anki.

Basic, cloze and Image Occlusion notes import as cards. Image Occlusion masks import as rectangles, one card per mask, and text labels on the image are left out; the import summary says how many. Other note types import through their own card templates, so each card shows the fields Anki would show. Custom card styling and scripts aren't carried over.

Re-importing updates the existing cards instead of creating duplicates.

Under You, Data, export a course or everything as JSON with media. Export is free and unlimited.

Both devices need the same Apple Account, iCloud Drive enabled, and sync turned on under You, Sync. Large media libraries take a while on first sync. If a card still differs, the most recently edited copy wins.

No. Bifold has no account of its own. Sync uses your iCloud; purchases use your Apple Account.

Cloud results are made on our server from the material you chose, and are not kept afterwards. On-device results will be made by Apple Intelligence on your iPhone, with nothing leaving the phone, and every result will show which one it was. on-device and labels at launch

On-device features need Apple Intelligence, which needs a supported iPhone with it turned on in Settings. Where it is unavailable, the app offers the cloud path or says plainly that the feature needs Apple Intelligence. at launch

Every control is labelled. The card has a rotor for switching between question and answer, Show answer is always present, and Missed and Got it are announced with their intervals. If something is unlabelled, that is a bug: please tell us.

Bifold follows your Dynamic Type setting all the way to the largest accessibility sizes. Card text grows and scrolls; it never truncates.

Turn on Reduce Motion in iOS Settings, Accessibility, Motion. Every Bifold animation, including the fold reveal, becomes a crossfade.

Subscriptions are cancelled in iOS Settings, under your Apple Account, Subscriptions. The Semester Pass does not renew and needs no cancelling. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Pricing details.
