For students

Photo of your notes. Cards for tonight.

Bifold is built for the way a semester actually goes: a lecture you half-followed, twenty minutes on the bus, a roommate willing to quiz you, and an exam that is suddenly next week. Free to study, with a pass for exam season.

A day with Bifold

After class

Capture it while it is fresh

Photograph the whiteboard or your notebook. Drop in the lecture slides. Keep the good cards, skip the rest. Ten minutes after class, the lecture is a deck. Soon the cards will appear one by one as they are written, each marked with the sentence it came from. streaming at launch

A PDF page with one sentence highlighted on the left half, and the index cards made from it on the right half.

Between classes

Twenty minutes is a session

Today shows what is due, and only that. Start, answer, Missed or Got it, done. On iPhone Duo the phone stays closed in one hand: the question outside, open to see the answer. There is no lockout; the scheduler just knows what you did.

Today: 63 cards due, a Start button, a 12-day streak, and the next exam.

At the kitchen table

Let a friend quiz you at launch

Lay the Duo flat between you. Your half shows the question; theirs shows the answer and the buttons. They ask, you answer, they grade. On any iPhone, hand the phone over or connect two phones and theirs becomes the controller. Your friend needs no account, and nothing of yours stays on their phone.

The week before

Count down to the exam

Give a course its exam date. The countdown sits on Today, and as the day approaches the scheduler raises its target for that course so the cards you would have forgotten come back first. When you are caught up, it says so, with how many cards come back tomorrow, instead of a zero.

Today when nothing is due: a fanned stack of three paper cards, You're all caught up, 18 cards due tomorrow, a 12-day streak, and the next exam.
Caught up, and told what tomorrow holds.

Made for memorisation-heavy majors

Pre-med, nursing, pharmacy, biology, history, law prerequisites and intro languages: anywhere the grade depends on how much you can hold in your head on one morning.

Anatomy and pharmacology

Image occlusion for diagrams, cloze for mechanisms, exam-aware retention for the block exam.

Languages

Type the answer with accent-tolerant checking, or listen with AirPods in and a voice per language. Type and Listen at launch

History and law

Dates, cases and holdings from your readings, with page references back to the PDF.
